It's all up & up from here

Although you go down the stairs, it’s all Up and Up from there!

This upscale, low-key bar in Greenwich Village offers sophisticated cocktails and snacks in a dimly lit setting. Perfect to cozy up next to that cute someone or catch up with friends in a relaxed environment in a rather highly noisy neighborhood. Beautiful interiors, decorated with William Morris wallpaper, wooden and marble tables and the low hanging lamps put a spotlight on your table, giving the illusion that you are the only ones there.

If you find yourself in the heart of NYU’s entertainment hub but prefer a more relaxed atmosphere for your pre-show drink without the bustling NYU crowd, look no further than The Up & Up. This downstairs cocktail haven, created by Matt Piacentini, offers a warmly lit ambiance that strikes the perfect balance—neither too bright nor too dim.

What makes this place even more enticing is its rich history; it was the renowned Gaslight Café back in the ’60s, frequented by the likes of Allen Ginsberg and Bob Dylan.

For those looking for a summery, refreshing drink, that is just a tad bit sweet I’d recommend the Bring June Flowers. Made with Reyka Vodka, Suze, Jasmine Tea, Cucumber, and Lemon Juice. Or if you want something with a bit of bitter/spicy aftertaste try the One-Star Yelp Review, made with Reyka Vodka, Montenegro, Cachaca, Grapefruit Juice, Lemon Juice, Demerara.

Planning a date night? Try Up and Up and I hope you have as much fun as I did! And let me know some of your favorite date night spots!
