Once You Go Pommes Frites
You Don’t Get Fries Off the Streets
I believe I have been eating fries the wrong way! And no it has nothing to do with deep frying potatoes or an elaborate debate about the perks of an air fryer.
Recently stumbled upon this little treasure on Macdougal Street. This hole in the wall fries haven serve authentic Belgian style fries, double cooked and topped with a variety of finger licking sauces in a cute paper cone. And for a moment you might just be transported to a beachside shack.
Don’t be greedy and go for the regular size, it is the perfect amount for one person or that way you can try different varieties. Their selection is pretty extensive and requires you to be decisive, or you’ll be left in a state of confusion.
If you have been dipping your fries in ketchup all this while, trust me your mind will be blown with their selection of sauces. As they have aptly put it, “The selection of toppings for your frites includes everything from the familiar to the exotic, and is limited only by imagination.”
Try the War Sauce made with Frite Sauce, Peanut Satay, and Raw Onions or the Wasabi. Trust me you’ll think about it for days, I am still thinking about it.
Might be a bit savory and a little hot, especially for a hot summer day like yesterday, but it’s worth every bite.
